After a fading of painting in contemporary art to the benefit of other media, many painters are back on the front of the scene. They excel in techniques, innovate, and feed off the images that our society produces. "History, Stories in Paintings" is a group exhibition that brings together the best of contemporary French painting. It bears witness to the way in which painters represent history today. But which history? The one that will remain in school textbooks, or the daily life of everyone, this myriad of small stories that depicts a society. It is all this at the same time, painting life in all its states.
