Portraits of live models or mannequins, mirrors, objects photographed as bodies, bodies photographed as objects, and more recently, still lifes, vanities, and fictional characters constitute an iconographic repertoire in which the staging of "things" seems to be the real focus of Valérie Belin's photographs.
