Valérie Belin : Les Choses entre ELLES

The exhibition Valérie Belin, Les Choses entre-elles, includes around sixty photographs selected from the artist's most iconic series, including five from her latest series, Cover Girls, presented to the public for the first time.

 

Mirrors, objects photographed as bodies, bodies photographed as objects, portraits of live models or mannequins—and more recently, still lives, vanities, and female portraits of fictional characters— constitute an iconography in which the staging of “things” seems to be the real focus of the photographs.

 

A new perspective on these artists' work is offered by Annie Madet-Vache, art historian and director of the Musée des Franciscaines, in collaboration with Valérie Belin.
